Brent Butler is a NYC-based rapper hailing from South Jersey. He began performing when he was 13 as a drummer in local punk rock bands, and was soon composing and recording his own songs as a singer/guitarist. Influenced by the Hip-Hop spirit of his impoverished hometown, Vineland, NJ, Brent started freestyling and writing rap verses to impress the rap aficionados at school.
Upon moving to NYC to pursue a career in music, he transitioned from being a rock artist to a full-fledged rapper. Brent Butler is a singer/songwriter/rapper/producer and guitarist from Camden, New Jersey. Born into a poor, broken family, the young recording artist fled alone to NYC to make it in the music industry. Now Butler has created a name for himself as a highly skilled lyricist, guitarist, producer and even actor. His debut EP with Bronx-based rapper, Deascent, titled THE COLD PRESS has received rave reviews. Recently Lot18.com (which powers some of USA’s largest wine clubs like tastingroom.com, Forbes, and the New York Times Wine Club) released a wine in honor of the album, named after the single “When Wolves Attack.” Brent Butler is an American rapper/singer/songwriter and producer based out of NYC. His teen years fronting punk rock bands in South Jersey gave birth to his eclectic and unorthodox approach to hip-hop, rap, and pop. Be on the look out for Brent butler’s solo project coming soon on Dsgup inc.
